William Shatner
William Shatner was the main attraction at Ottawa's first-ever Comiccon Event 2012 held at Ottawa's Convention Centre. The living legend beamed into Ottawa for the event after Patrick Stewart, (Captain Picard) of Star Trek's, The Next Generation, couldn't attend. Shatner who is famous for his role as Captain Kirk in the original television series, Star Trek, signed autographs for eager fans who lined up to meet their idol. Shatner answered questions fans had about different episodes and he signed autographs for almost an hour. He was not available for day-two of the event.
Comiccon 2012
Held for the first-time-ever in Ottawa, the two-day Comiccon Event enjoyed a huge success with approx. 12,000 patrons showing support for the event's opening day. Many of the visitors arrived at the Convention Centre dressed up in costumes as their favourite Science-Fiction super hero. Fans lined up for autographs to meet their favourite celebrities, such as Cassandra Peterson,(Elvira), Lou Ferrigno,(The Incredible Hulk), and main attraction William Shatner,(Captain Kirk) of Star Trek.
